In the latest video by the Parts Specialists, everything revolves around the compressed air system in trucks. The workshop duo not only goes into the basics and possible causes of faults, but also gives practical tips on fault prevention.
Via the technical support – the HelpDesk – the Parts Specialists often receive requests and suggestions for new workshop videos in addition to questions about the products and services of the Diesel Technic Group. This is also the case with the compressed air system in the truck, which the Parts Specialists are focusing on in this episode. Besides this exciting topic, viewers can also look forward to a new face, as workshop professional Niklas stands in for his colleague Lars in this video. Together with Parts Specialist Kevin, he skilfully guides step by step through the compressed air system in the truck.
A spare part that is often ignored when searching for the source of the fault is the air filter. Depending on its condition and maintenance interval, it may need to be replaced. Kevin and Niklas decide on model 6.25005 for their truck – which can also be found in the Partner Portal. The two then switch from the air filter and intake system to check the compressor. Here, Kevin checks the compressed air line leading to the air dryer, including the connections. Meanwhile, Niklas explains the function of the 4-circuit protection valve using the example of item 6.63010.
The entire workshop video with all the hints and tips such as the relay valve and spring brake cylinder can be found at https://youtu.be/dnwA0zS7i7U. The Parts Specialists also explain how the air gets from the truck to the trailer.
In the Diesel Technic Partner Portal, workshop professionals can find all the right spare parts, including compressors, various air lines, air dryers, 4-circuit protection and relay valves, as well as air tanks, coupling heads and many other components.
