A defective vehicle means downtime - minimising this downtime and thus keeping vehicles and businesses moving is one of Diesel Technic's primary aims. Individual logistics solutions ensure a fast and reliable supply of spare parts worldwide.

The automatic small parts warehouse with shuttle technology has been in operation at the main site in Kirchdorf, Lower Saxony, since December 2019. What has happened since then and what has been the experience?

"In addition to the space-saving storage, we are able to record significantly faster order processing and therefore also faster delivery," says Thomas Kaps, Executive Manager Logistics at Diesel Technic.

Now, around 12,000 articles are stored in the shuttle, which makes up about 35 percent of the product range stored in Kirchdorf. "Much more important than the number of articles stored, however, is the proportion of daily picks that can be served from the shuttle. Since its introduction, this value has been continuously increased to over 70 per cent. More than 500 processed order lines per hour illustrates once again that this is a worthwhile investment from which our customers benefit,” Thomas Kaps emphasises.

Customers benefit from Diesel Technic's logistical capabilities. Thanks to optimised processes, the right logistics solution is offered for practically every requirement. For example, you can choose between collection from the warehouse, same-day delivery, CEP shipping and land/sea/air transport. Various delivery options are available at the different locations of the Diesel Technic Group - this ensures individually that the product arrives at the right place at the right time.

In addition to the usual distribution of products via distribution partners, it is also possible to have the required articles delivered directly by Diesel Technic to the workshop and end customers of the distribution partners. This is done on behalf of and for the account of the distribution partners - an additional service that is possible thanks to high article availability and state of the art, IT-supported warehouse management.

The status as an "officially recognised known consignor" at the German Federal Aviation Authority (LBA) and the AEO certificate from customs shorten international transport times. It declares air freight shipments from Diesel Technic SE as "secure" and leads to a significantly simplified and accelerated clearance process for air freight from dispatch to loading onto the aircraft.

The various delivery options offered as well as continuously optimised logistics solutions enable a fast and efficient supply chain to achieve the common goal of Diesel Technic, its distribution partners and the end customers - to keep vehicles moving worldwide.
